Sometimes I work on nursery trees, sometimes I work on client’s trees……and sometimes if I’ve been a really good boy I get to work on my own trees. Hopefully these regular visits will give you an insight into what goes on behind closed doors……….
Studio Stories – My smaller trees……Lonicera Nitidia…….
I have just pruned this Lonicera back for the second time this year. Funny how it was pruned almost the same time last year.
The first two pictures are from June 2016 whilst the third picture was taken in October. The fourth picture was taken in March earlier this year and the two after that were taken a month later in April. That last three pictures were taken earlier this week.
With the last pruning it was necessary to go in deeper and really thin it out to avoid too much congestion. Some branches at the front were removed to open up the view of the hollow trunk and improve the line of the remaining lower branches.
