When Alan said he was digging a tree out of the garden to bring along to a one to two Class I don’t know what I expected………….but he arrived with a monster of a tree!
This Yew tree was seriously big and it was just so difficult to see clearly what was going on inside the canopy. Finding a trunk line and selecting branches was not easy.
It was a case of starting from the outside and gradually finding a way in. The pile of cut branches just got bigger and bigger.
Eventually we arrived at a shape and plan for the future tree. It was then repotted into a suitable training pot. The result is so small by comparison with what we started but this now has the potential to become a fine bonsai.
I will certainly be watching it’s progress with interest……….!!
