A Juniper I had to wire and style – Part One Posted on April 27, 2021 by John Hanby This Juniper Squamata Meyerii was left with me by one of my students for wiring and restyling Quite a wide tree when seen from the side too. The trunks needed cleaning and the foliage also needed cleaning out. Evidence!! We can now appreciate the structure more clearly. The trunks came up an attractive orange brown colour. This large jin on the taller trunk spoilt the taper and movement in the trunk so it had to be removed. On the smaller tree another jin and large branch required similar treatment. You can see how long the branch is and how far the foliage is from the trunk. The large jin is shortened and the live heavy branch made into a thinner dead jin. In part two we can finally turn our attention to wiring and repositioning the branches.
