Looking back….we can tell a tree’s story…..admire an image…..capture a moment…..remember a special event…..be inspired – to create a memory for tomorrow.
I hope you enjoy this regular peep into some of John’s bonsai history.
Memory Lane – Open Workshop November 2005
Looking back through my old photographs I came across a few pictures taken at an open workshop in November 2005……almost 10 years ago! I am impressed even now at the quality of the material my students were working on back then.
The Cryptomeria started life as a garden plant and for this variety was developing extremely well in such a short time.
“Where have all the students gone”……sounds like an old song title……..but these pictures have an almost eerie feeling about them……as though the students just stopped whatever they were doing and left……I can only assume the bell for lunch must have gone. Now that would explain everything!
There were some really interesting Junipers on the class that day and quite a few different varieties. I still see some of them on classes today.
Looking back at old workshops and trees can be really worthwhile. Sometimes if you don’t look back it’s too easy to forget just how far you and your trees have come. Only then can you truly look forward to what lies in the future……
