Memory Lane – Dan Barton Workshop…. October 2002
In the early years of the John Hanby Bonsai School we had many visiting bonsai artists carrying out workshops in the studio and demonstrations at our evening club night. They came from both the UK and Europe.
Dan was one of my early mentors who became a good friend and a regular visitor with his popular workshops always being well-attended. The pictures below give a small insight into one of his last workshops at Pear Tree in October 2002.
You might recognise a few other familiar faces in the studio. Many of you will also remember Gemma my Japanese Akita. She was a firm somewhat immovable fixture in all workshops at both Pear Tree Cottage and Newstead. She continued to attend classes right up to the time when she sadly had to be put to sleep. We still miss her presence to this day.
